Non-Custodial Security
Understanding how BUFFETT protects your assets without ever taking custody
What Does “Non-Custodial” Mean?
Non-custodial means that BUFFETT never holds, stores, or controls your funds. Your assets always remain in your own wallet or exchange account under your complete control.
Unlike traditional exchanges or investment platforms that require you to deposit funds into their custody, BUFFETT operates as a comparison and execution layer that connects to your existing accounts through secure, read-only API connections.
How BUFFETT Works Without Custody
You Connect Your Wallet
Connect via MetaMask, WalletConnect, or Web3Auth. We only read your wallet address and balance— we never access your private keys.
API Keys Stay Server-Side
For exchange connections, API keys are stored encrypted on our servers with read-only permissions by default. Trading permissions require explicit user consent.
You Approve Every Transaction
When investing, you approve each transaction through your wallet. BUFFETT proposes the optimal strategy, but you execute it with your signature.
Double Confirmation for Trading
Any trading action requires double confirmation and is logged in an immutable consent record for your protection and compliance.
Why Non-Custodial Is Safer
Since we don't hold your funds, there's no risk of unauthorized withdrawals or platform exit scams.
BUFFETT doesn't store funds, making it an unattractive target for hackers seeking to steal assets.
Non-custodial models face fewer regulatory requirements since we're not a financial custodian.
Your keys, your coins. You can disconnect BUFFETT at any time with no withdrawal process.
Regulatory Compliance
BUFFETT's non-custodial model significantly reduces regulatory burden because:
- •We are not classified as a money services business (MSB)
- •We do not require banking licenses or financial intermediary registration
- •We operate as a software service that facilitates user-controlled transactions
- •Users maintain compliance with their own jurisdictions through their chosen wallets and exchanges
Note: While BUFFETT operates non-custodially, users should ensure they comply with their local tax and reporting requirements for cryptocurrency transactions.
